Lewis Clayman, DMD, MD, is a Harvard-educated oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing at Pinole Oral Surgery, in Pinole, California. He specializes in implantology, reconstructive surgery, oncology, and TMJ surgery.
Dr. Clayman completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Brooklyn College, City University of New York (CUNY). Dr. Clayman went on to earn his doctorate of dental medicine at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He finished his graduate education with a medical degree from Drexel University. Since then, Dr. Clayman has continued to study emerging technologies and best practices in oral and maxillofacial surgery, ensuring he provides the best possible services and care to his patients.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Clayman spent 25 years as the director of the residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Sinai Hospital of Detroit and the St. Joseph Oakland Hospital. He also served as the Chair of the Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Clayman volunteers his expertise and has completed cleft palate surgeries, oncology, and reconstructive surgeries in Nepal, India, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, and Ethiopia.
